Programs & Services

Psychiatric treatment is provided through the Framingham Day Hospital program and employment services through the Employment Services program.

• Framingham Day Hospital is a day treatment program for people 16 years of age and older who need more than a weekly therapy appointment but less than full hospitalization.
• The Employment Services program offers a wide range of opportunities to help people prepare themselves emotionally for employment in the areas of assuming responsibilities, relating to an employer and/or supervisor, and getting along with co-workers.
• Project Advance, is also offered to help people move to higher levels of employment or to help those whose careers have been interrupted by mental illness to become employed again.

Programs For People is more than just a human service agency because it takes a personal interest in everyone who comes through its doors. The agency has been "like family" to many of its clients. Although the agency provides assistance with developing social skills and is not intended to be a replacement for family or friends, it serves as an ongoing source of support to former clients in times of need. Clients can return to the program throughout their lives, if needed, either when they are experiencing emotional difficulty or when they are ready to pursue further growth and new challenges. There is a low staff turnover rate, so when clients return they find many of the same staff that they know and trust. There is also a low turnover of Board Members, which has contributed greatly to the agency's ability to both sustain itself and grow over the years.
